Welcome to Camp Saffran! We run a fun, exciting and engaging Boy Scout Resident Summer Camp program located just off the Susquehanna River in beautiful Harford County, Maryland.  Our weeklong program has something for everyone. At Camp Saffran, you can look forward to a quality program, a high-energy staff, plenty of activities to keep Scouts engaged and having fun, and superior customer service.  Most Troops choose to eat three hot meals a day in the Nentico Pavilion (provided by camp), but an option to cook by Troop or Patrol in the campsite is also available.

Camping Options

Your unit will camp around one of eight (8) lodge sites or one of four (4) Adirondack sites. Each site is equipped with electricity, refrigeration, and a gas stove. Each unit has a choice of one of two methods of food preparation.

Choice 1 – Central Dining: Quality meals completely prepared by our experienced cooking staff will be awaiting you at our pavilion. If you are planning to do Central Dining, you must specify this when you signup for camp. Meal times are: breakfast 8:00 a.m., lunch 12:15 p.m. and dinner 6:00 p.m.

Choice 2 – Troop Cooking: Units provide all of their own food, either by bringing it from home or by using one of the stores conveniently located in the area.

Merit Badges Offered

Listed in alphabetical order are some of the merit badges offered at Broad Creek last summer. With all merit badges, Scouts should become familiar with the requirements before coming to camp. Pamphlets should be purchased and studied prior to a Scout’s arrival to insure his familiarity with the merit badge requirements for completion. Options vary between Camps Saffran and Spencer. Please contact the Camp Director to find out which badges are offered in your camp.
