2016 Summer Camp Information

A great traditional week-long Boy Scout camp, Camp Saffran continues in 2016 with an awesome "Super Heros" theme-oriented summer.  Programs include a dynamic, all inclusive First-Year Camper Program, a great list of merit badges and a week of unforgettable experiences.

The Exploration Trek for older Scouts will be offerred again.  Hike on the trail of adventure for five days experiencing new programs at each outpost camp: axe throwing; survival cooking; Aqua Trek; and river tubing.  Not only does it work as a new fun adventure but a Scout can complete certain merit badges and other accomplishments along the way.  Scouts can also complete all or most of the requirements for the 50-Miler Award, the National Outdoor Badge for Camping, Hiking or Adventure and the Leave No Trace Award.

For our other Scouts there are opportunities to earn one of 60 Merit Badges offered in Scoutcraft, Conservation Ecology, Handicrafts, Shooting Sports, Field Sports, Aquatics (pool and waterfront), STEM, and Eagle Summit. Also planned are theme-oriented Camp Wide Games (NOW on Thursday night) and individual and patrol competitions. Additionally, for your older Scouts don’t forget the All-Terrain Vehicle Program now with a longer more challenging trail ride on the last day.  Other opportunities include COPE, campfires, Sporting Arrows, Skeet and Trap Range, Water Skiing, Tubing Treks, Motor Tubing, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Order of the Arrow Call Out, Discover SCUBA (Wednesday evening only), and dining hall fun and songs... lots of songs.

There are no hidden or additional fees with the exception of outside program partners which include Discover Scuba and All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) programs. The only other money your Scouts may need is for the camp Trading Post!
